This is done and DONE. And I’m pretty sure it still looks like this:
Added some additional differences between the middle and outer pieces. Added a weird blue deletion of the central head, ala the artwork for Iron Maiden’s “Can I Play with Madness”.
The situation becomes more complicated.
Painting progress keeps on and on. The darker pinks are influenced by looking too much at the great paintings of Philip Guston.
I’ve added some red and some pink. Red’s a fine color.
Still trying to figure out what to do with the background.
A few weeks ago I got six absolutely gigantic stretched canvases (36×48 inches). I’ve started a triptych with three of these and have been documenting its progress. It’s maybe about halfway done, but who knows? Anyway, here is the process so far:
(This is when it turned into an accidental representation of Michael Jackson’s Thriller. Not necessarily a bad thing, but not what I’m going for.)
(Still in the de-thrillerization process. And that’s how it currently stands.)
