Egg Face Painting
April 22, 2012This painting is totally in progress.

This painting is totally in progress.

Took the day off work today and coincidentally, my friend Luke’s pizza place (Falbo’s Pizzeria, Fort Collins) was closed for electrical work. So I finally hung up some paintings. Thanks, Luke!

Eyeball enhancements are always excellent.

Last weekend I mixed way way way too much yellow, so I’m using it tonight before busting out the reds and blues and so forth.

Three panels in progress for Kevin Kooyman’s Panel Project in Iowa.

Built this one up on top of an old painting that recently fell out of my favor. I’ve put three layers onto it so far, and I believe it is due tomorrow (Monday), so it should be done tonight.

(Let’s not talk about Step 2)

Acrylic on stretched canvas, .75 inches deep. 11 inches wide and 12 inches tall. Ready to hang.
This painting will be available via silent auction at Heart Art Denver this Thursday.
Update: Got word from a coworker that the painting was auctioned for $75. And that’s cool.
Just throwin’ some circles into the backgrounds of some paintings.

Shit like this is why I’m always late to the day jorbz. That’s a Roy-to-the-Gee-to-the-Biv.

Alright, I guess I’ll try to sell these Red Head paintings (6″x8″ / Fredrix canvas board / $30 each, Ms. or Mr. Intelligent Art Collector). I’ve been getting into high-resolution detail views lately, so check out the stupid-ridiculous-big-assed version (5mb or so).
I’ve been uploading photos of in-progress paintings to mlkshk.com lately, so the blog has been slacking a bit. But anyway, here’s a painting in progress this month:

Bustin’ out the paint this weekend after a lengthy hiatus. Here’s another post about a painting in progress. This time it’s for the AIGA Heart Art Auction 2011.

Good God. I de-oranged the orange.

It’s a long story, but this month I’ll be moving to the next door apartment. This is weird and also convenient. So now I’ve got six months of rental time to find a permanent condo or something, hopefully.

Here are two fairly recent exhibition photos:

A collection of small acrylic paintings I’ve been working on lately.

Here are some iterations of my Bordo Bello skateboard paintings.

Two of five paintings, as my scanner seems to have crapped out during scanning.
